COMPETITION SKILLS EVALUATIONS

In addition to the Preliminary Skills Evaluation, we also have the Competition Skills Evaluation for any Nippers who wish to participate in competition. Competition Skills Evaluations will be undertaken during Nippers and/or at scheduled training sessions.

What do Under 6 Nippers do?
‘Surf Play 1′ is the program designed for our most junior members – the focus is on play, participation and fun. Activities and games will be the focus of the sessions with a number of beach safety and awareness lessons available such as:
• basic safety practices during activities,
• what makes up the beach environment,
• Sunsmart guidelines,
• the importance of having an adult with them at the beach,
• what a Surf Lifesaver is and what they do,
• wading, beach sprinting and beach flags.
SLSA rules prohibit Under 6s and Under 7s Nippers from participating in swim and board events, but they do wades and lots of beach activities!
